A Virtual Optimist Club
The Childhood Cancer Optimist Club of South Carolina has two missions:
In keeping with the ideals of Optimist International, bringing out the best in all of South Carolina’s children; and.
Supporting the mission of the Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas (CCP), that helps families get lifesaving treatment for their children battling cancer. CCP provides support for transportation, lodging and meals during treatment travel, and with critical challenges of daily living and caregiving that threaten successful care.
Our work is to stimulate greater awareness of the special needs of children with cancer, to identify local resources for families, and to encourage community-level support through volunteering, direct contributions and special events. CCOC members form a human safety net for these most precious cancer warriors.
We are a virtual Optimist club affiliated with Optimist International. We meet via Zoom on the first Monday of each month at 4pm. (See our Events section for meeting details). In addition to meetings, we participate in a variety of community based projects across the state of South Carolina. Membership is open to all.
